Anyone know of any phone/pc mirror apps that will let me use Whatsapp on the PC?
I've tried BlueStack but it's not to my liking....

That is something that is not functionally possible, Andyroid pr Genymotion will do the trick, but whatsapp is not capable of running on multiple devices simultaneously.
So if you happy maintaining 2 separate sets of conversations and contacts then those are your best bet. BlueStacks is the worst example of an emulator out there, its like the developers intentionally tried to make a useless piece of trash and once they were done they were not satisfied it was bad enough so they went and added bugs to the code.

If you willing to get your contacts to migrate to something better, telegram also infinite multiple simultaneous sessions and has a desktop client, chrome app and web app.
Its also faster, uses less battery, client and server side encrypted with an encrypted connection, running on a cloud network so all devices remain in sync. I have moved all my NB ones over, whatsapp has not been used in nearly 3 weeks.
Devs are so confident in their encryption there is a standing 200k USD reward for anyone who can email the developer the encryption key.

I just discovered Mobizen: http://www.mobizen.com/

Lets me type on whatsapp and control everything else on my phone from the pc over wifi. Telegram looks cool but everyone I talk to uses whatsapp and won't try and get them all to convert... Seems they were a little late to the party but they do have a LOT of installs though...

Looks neat. What's it like on battery life?

Not sure, just installed it...

Cool beans. Me too.
Will fiddle with it at the office in the AM. Will be hard to judge battery at the office though cause I have the Plex app running as a server and streaming to my second screen so can't really analyse. Will test battery consumption when I get home though.

Will check it out, don't think they came too late, perfect time to pit people against thier paranoia with the whole Facebook buyout.

Also consider how many people are in your situation or even have multiple devices, WhatsApp has a big hole in its system and telegram has filled it, being able to use 1 account on your phone and tablet or both phones, even all 3, is a big plus for many users.

Unlikely it will take over and replace WhatsApp soon, but who knows what the future holds, all my friends are in IT so security plus multiple devices is an easy sale.

Chrome remote desktop - allows you to control your desktop computers via an extension in the chrome browser. Similar to a product like teamviewer, but more limited in functionality. Also handles the mouse cursor in a very different way.

Android app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.chromeremotedesktop

Chrome extension for desktop :
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...esktop/gbchcmhmhahfdphkhkmpfmihenigjmpp?hl=en

I prefer Splashtop for this. Very user friendly.

Just use TeamViewer. 10x better than the Chrome plugin.

Of course all companies are rich:p And in other news, money grows on trees

The most expensive option is R5500 once off (unlimited amount of registered workstations, 3 concurrent sessions) and the cheapest R899 (1 registered workstations, 1 session at a time). If your company can't afford that, you got problems.

Shyte.....I've got problems then!

This the most silly argument I have heard in a while. Product X can do 80% of what product Y does but is free. Its a no brainer......pay for product Y why don't you.....because!!!

ORLY? Please reveal where you get that number (much less R5500 for the most expensive) ;) as I must be badly concussed from running into the stupid tree because I get this - from their site, with their wizard:

ok ok. look i was on mobile :)

anyways, 10k for the absolute most expensive.... if you are running a one man show, yes, its expensive, if you in a corporate environment, it's pocket change.
