Android Useful Apps

Can't say I've ever had a problem with it.
Taking away 1/3 of the screen with 'fast access' and no option (that I can find) to get a list view are big gripes for me.

I've found something called File Manager by Rhythm Software which looks ok (will post a link when I get onto my PC).

@AlphaJohn, I may look at Solid Explorer again. Astro and ES look like clones :( I may take you up on the offer of the older version. I will try out File Manager for a bit.

Seriously I actually like it. I use it to stream videos from my home server

How? Does it pick up a DLNA server?

Or just able to browse to the folder where the videos are stored on the network?

At the bottom right of the screen is a 'view' icon, it gives you the option to view in 'small list' view, if you like. And other options too.

The 'fast access' screen is only there if you swipe to it, press the Android 'options/menu' button, or if you tap the top left icon; you can probably come by without it at all.

I chose a black background with white text, and I must say, I am loving it!

You do have the option of installing the 'classic' theme as well.

But of course, Android is about choice! :D you must be happy

WHy not just go back to the classic theme, its in the options, persoanlly I like the new look, adds more realeastate to the actual file manager, no longer wasting it with that massive toolbar.

Where do you change the background, this white is somewhat clashing with my theme. Not about to go look for an inferior alternative just because they changed to a new and improved look with a white BG.
NVM, found it

I paid for Playerpro music player. Loving it! My personal best, and I've tried a few.

Much prefer its interface to Poweramp's interface, it is less visually confusing, and the controls are easy - yet it is fully featured. It is also beautiful. You do get the DSP plugin. You get many themes to choose from in Playstore.

Just thought I should put it out there...

I use Smart Office for reading office files, and it reads PDF's like any other file. I bought it at launch for 99c, not sure what the normal price is.

I don't see a view icon at all. Also, the 'fast access' panel is always on.
