Android Useful Apps

I can't get rid of the fast access rubbish on my n7. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Works as expected on my Prestigio tablet and my n7000.

No idea, mine just worked. Official roms, nothing special.

Have you checked out goo.im, its where I get all my downloads from.
Or maybe even Cyanogens official download page, if it exists it will be there otherwise its not an official Cyanogen. LINK

Their S3 page doesn't have the M-Series releases, but their own PR release says it exists, and is official - http://www.cyanogenmod.org/blog/cyanogenmod-10-1-m2-release

Where one finds it, I have no idea. They say github, but I haven't the foggiest how to find it in that mess. I don't know what the hell I'm looking at in github. Usually if I need something in github I follow a link and click download as zip. Other than that I am, admittedly, hopeless...

EDIT: found a link to M-Snapshot. But nothing for I9300, yet their page states that it works on the S3. But what version?!

Weird all I9300 M download references point to this page: http://www.get.cm/?device=i9300

EDIT: I presume it is not available for the I9300 yet?

Those are nightlies and stable releases. The section for M-snapshots is empty...

The stuff on git is uncompiled, so as its not yet in the release list they have not yet come to a point of stability that they are willing to provide to the general public. the M2 releases on git are like pre-alpha releases purely for developers to test with, debug and fix.

I've also tried to locate the M releases without success. The nightlies are dead stable though, so I'm not sure what I'm looking to achieve.

Camera is still a massive issue. Crashes the gallery and takes blank pictures half of the time. Cannot use the focus at all. Takes very dull pictures, and has incredibly basic functionality and settings options. Also had to install the ALSA app to get the speaker working decently.

Apart from that it is all good...

I've used Camera Zoom FX for ages. Guarantees a good camera no matter what ROM I'm using. Only cost 25c on sale.

Check out "Cape Town Buses and Trains" - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=capebustrain.navigator

Nice! Does anyone know of an app that'll allow me to browse my pc files from my note 2? They're on the same wifi network.

Sorry to bring this up again, but I found a work around which may help someone with a similar problem. Next to the breadcrumb trail in the top bar is an icon which looks like a world with a phone overlaid. A touch on this will make the file manager panel fit the width of the screen. Everything then works as expected, until I open the fast access panel again with a swipe on the bottom bar. But now at least I can work around it.

The irony is, my antique Sony u20i running 2.3.7, also works as expected.

Want to share many or big files with another Android user, you don't want to use slow bluetooth and you are running AOSP ROM's (not able to use Samsung's built-in wifi direct)?

Maybe you peeps already know of this, but you should use Superbeam .

So glad I found it.

It works quite well actually.

Works pretty well. Similar to Any Send in functionality, uninstalled Any Send now (didn't always work for me).

Pity you can not send folders. I sometimes have a bunch of mp3s in multiple folders on one device that I would like to send to another...
