Android Useful Apps

Looks like I'm going to have to try and maybe get someone to help me with this rooting thing...

Not necessary. Just find your phone on the xda developer forum and follow the stickies.

Grabbed it the other day, too laxy to add anything manually but picked up everything so far.

Lol that's why this works so well for me. I've tried other budget apps and I couldn't be arsed to enter half the stuff they required. Also really chuffed that this is homegrown s too!

Found a cool music player to replace the normal crappy one on my S3 Mini.

XPlay, its free.
Player control can be used even when the screen is locked.
Tags can be edited as well.
Transparency settings
Graphic Equalizer
Visualizations
Not totally add-free though but its minimal

Any other music player thats similar or better?

Poweramp. It lives in the top 5 paid app list for a reason.

I like Playerpro's interface over Poweramp's.

I like the browsing UI on PlayerPro better, but I switched back to Poweramp after a few minutes because of the general lack of polish, silly design choices and rather unattractive player screen. Overall, Poweramp dominates imo.

Right up until you want to shake your phone to change the track (which, quelle surprise, I do); I've looked for that feature in Poweramp - no dice.

Shaking my phone for any reason has never been a gesture I've liked. Poweramp has awesome lock screen controls which suit me just fine when using my phone only as a music player.
