Android Useful Apps

Shaking my phone for any reason has never been a gesture I've liked. Poweramp has awesome lock screen controls which suit me just fine when using my phone only as a music player.

Agreed.

Forget which player it was that I had.
But I like to go for walks with the music playing via earphones and then had the shake gesture activated and would have the phone in my pocket skipping to another track with each stride :p

So PowerAmp's lockscreen controls work damn well for me.

Only gripe is that I wish it'd leave the controls for the equalizer on the Lockscreen though :(

What app do you guys use to upload photos to an image host online and then post them in the forum?

Tapatalk does it automatically, and you shouldn't be browsing forums on your phone unless it's with Tapatalk. If the forum has an upload facility then Tapatalk will offer to use it, otherwise Tapatalk provides its own upload service.

Does Tapatalk also resize the images?

I don't see the resize option

Maybe it's automatic now. I've definitely been offered a downsize in the past. The Photobucket app is pretty good, perhaps give that a try if you're so intent on being able to resize your images. I upload images all the time with Tapatalk and it works perfectly. If I want a small image I can change the resolution of my camera before taking the photo. I think once ever I needed to resize an existing pic on my phone - a task that PicSay Pro made short work of.

Ya shake to change track is probably the most retarded feature for almost any situation. Unless you listen to your tunes with yourself and your phone verstationary your going to have problems.

Tried playerpro a few times over the years and each time I got back to poweramp. It was the first and fastest app I have ever paid for, and IMO nothing has come close. I always use the headset controls to change my tracks anyway so never use the lockscreen one, but it looks pretty on 4.2.2

I uploaded this pic with Tapatalk and it's way to big - http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...ke-a-photo?p=10367116&viewfull=1#post10367116

Don't want to resize a pic every time before I take it if I want to upload it a forum...

I can't check properly because I'm on Tapatalk, but if it's a new photo that you're uploading your camera app should have resolution settings a touch away. Just make it smaller.

So every single time I want to take and upload a picture I must go into my settings and resize the settings and then resize them back when I'm done uploading... seems a bit pointless, Tapatalk should give you the option to choose what size you want it to upload the pics as, or if not Tapatalk, then another app, and I can just post the link using Tapatalk...

Otherwise there's always Wave Control. Can't remember why I stopped using it though...

Maybe cuz it looked odd waving at your phone?

I tried that some time back, felt really silly, but also I always listened to music while walking or riding, waving was not an option.

To each their own. I walk around with my sod-off-and-leave-me-alones in almost all the time, and my phone in its pocket place, clearly with the screen off. So, come the time I want to skip a track, I don't particularly want to power up the screen; I don't even want to look at the damn thing much less look at it/hit the right zone for the lockscreen widget and very much don't want to do the unlock swipe. Not when I can just shake it and have the next track come up. As to this looking odd or retarded, I don't give a flying continental, I'm already ignoring you (the great unwashed at large) anyway.

Im just impressed that its not just changing tracks while you walking, you must have ninja training. So instead of take out, push button, push button, you what, turn of ninja training and spaz out your leg?

Came in handy when at my desk at work.
Just a flick of the finger.

Hehe. OK, easy now. :D

Changing the resolution of my camera takes a second... Check out the Photobucket app - might have what you're looking for.

This app gives you more control of your share menu. You can hide apps you don't use (the default Samsung crapware) and reorder it to suit you. You can also share to more than one app at a time like to Pocket and Wunderlist for example.
You can also set a default email address if you tend to share to it more than most.
This is for the free version, the Pro had even more.

:D ...ahh the (oh so fond) memories of the 'spaz' ad-hominem  Actually, this is the second app with shake function I'm on; the first one, Vanilla Music, was just either too damn sensitive at any setting that worked and utterly dead a hairsbreadth above that. And as I was going mad with tracks changing at every few steps or failing to work at all I looked around, and landed up on PlayerPro. Which has a far saner/more usable sensitivity range.
