Android Useful Apps

Got the new themes as a thank you. Now I'm going to have to change the theme regularly to get my money's worth... But it was worth it. Glad to see them extending their functionality. 3 languages simultaneously!

Fantastic ... but I don't like 'em

i like the new keyboard. the option to have arrow keys below and the number keys above are long overdue (but amazing to have). the themes themselves are neither here nor there

i've been using the beta for about 2 or 3 months now, because of the top number row functionality. Only switched back to stable version yesterday.

The arrow keys have been available for a while, but what I am chuffed about is that if you add the number keys, you get a bunch of useful symbols on the qwerty row in place of the numbers. I still hate the auto space though...

It automatically inserts a space when you finish a word or add punctuation.

umm, you can switch that off.

Swiftkey -> Advanced -> Text Correction:
- Spacebar completion mode -> always insert a space
- Quick period -> Should be ticked
- Auto capitalize -> Should be ticked

If I understand correctly.

No, if you tap a word prediction, a punctuation key, some brackets, and a few other keys, a space is automatically inserted after the keypress. And you cannot switch it off. It is really irritating when you are trying to type URLs.

In fact it's a pretty long standing irritation to a lot of people:

For those sukkeling with writing to the SD card from kitkat, this is a godsend:

NB: Requires root.

I really can't understand Google's logic in this matter...

FWIW, ES File Explorer writes to the SD with no problem, I wonder why the okes from TiBackup couldn't use the same technique for writing their backups. I transferred all my backups to the SD card with ES, with no problem, I installed those backups onto my new device with no problem. I hit the problem with EZ PDF Reader not wanting to write to the SD card, then a bit later TiBackup doing the same when I tried to make a backup (at least its settings told me the card was read-only). Thank goodness I found this app. I'm sure that I can uninstall it now as it has made the necessary changes.

Link Bubble - Just updated - 50% the pro version.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.linkbubble.playstore

Link Bubble is an all-new browser designed and crafted solely with mobile devices in mind.
Features include:
• When you click on a link in an app, Link Bubble loads that webpage in the background, leaving you free to keep using your current app rather than your precious time being wasted watching a page load. Once the page has fully loaded, it will animate on screen.
• Link Bubble's flick physics allow you to go from clicking a link to sharing a link or adding it to a service such as Pocket in little more than a second!
• Load multiple links from your current app at the same time (requires Pro).
• Gracefully handles links that redirect to other apps. No longer does clicking an Instagram link in Twitter redirect to a full screen browser before loading Instagram!
• Deep integration with the apps on your system.
• Locates embedded YouTube videos on web pages, and provides a shortcut to load those videos directly in the YouTube app.
• Handy stats that illustrate how much time you are saving by using Link Bubble.

Reviews indicate it to do nothing, other than showing ads?

I have not tried it, tbh. I don't have the problem. But have seen people to have the problem. Saw it on a "useful apps list" of last week, and thought their might be people that it could be useful for. Maybe they can revert with feedback.

Apparently you sometimes have to "try"/"use" it more than once, before it actually does what it is supposed to.

I tried this the last time someone mentioned it and could not actually see it doing anything
