Android Useful Apps

Thanks but I would like a gps that does noet have to be online all the time. I also can't switch off 3G

NavFree, works perfectly offline as it downloads all the maps for your selected countries to your device, its 161mb for SA, updates about every 2 months.

looking for work-out apps to track stuff like distance, calories etc

Looking for youtube downloader app. Seems Tubemate has been canned.

Edit: I managed to get the apk file some where.

TuneIn Internet radio. It has a car mode as well (which I haven't tried yet).

If anyone hates Rian as much as me, you can always tune into Tony Blewitt on Mix FM in the mornings. I'm interested in TuneIn as Darren Scott's Ballz Internet radio starts on 15 March and is supposed to be available on this app.

I bought SwiftKey X after hearing about it on several Android podcasts (mostly Android Central). I have a Xperia pro, with a hardware keyboard - that I'm not using so much any more. :D I still use it for longer emails, etc. but for short stuff the software keyboard is excellent. It predicts the next word based on your writing style, and I find myself just tapping words after a while. No typing required. :)

Thanks for posting them with links to where they can be found... as well as brief description, just like everyone else did....

why cant u just look on the market. if a poster is on a phone its pretty daft to expect links as well. if you interested, do the leg work yourself..

You are not helping either (also pretty daft). This post was not about doing legwork in the first place! The OP started a one stop thread to help people to get to the apps easily. If you (or anyone else) can't post links with your phone, then wait until you can get to a laptop/pc. Tariq786 can still link to the market and still give a brief discription of the apps. If he does he will indeed be helping others and post in the spirit of this thread!
