Android Useful Apps

This (Onavo Extend) is the primary reason I use ICS. The new update has a universal data cache, making it potentially even more effective. :)

Sorry for the dumb question but what is ICS ? Is it rooting your phone? I tried onavo extend but couldn't see savings on the app. I'm using stock standard galaxy s3.

ICS is Ice cream sandwich aka android version 4.0

Since you have a S3 it runs ICS standard.

Takes a few days before the logs properly catchup. Also only compresses non-streaming data. So no youtube or internet radio.

Also does not work when your on wifi.

Hey guys. Thanks for the reply. I feel pretty silly asking what ICS is now :D

Downloading onavo extend to try it out. Thanks again

Swiftkey 3 has just launched and is half price at R20. Best keyboard is my opinion. Can highly recommend it.

Still prefer Touchpal Free+skins+swype+predictive text+personal dictionary = win

But I guess we all like our own keyboards for our reasons and once you get use to one its next to impossible to change. At least we not stuck to default like em iOS users.

Each to he's own. I have a paid Swift keyboard, but got it for mom, would of considered using it myself if I could turn off the spell check and auto correct. Those are the 2 features I hate more than anything of a keyboard. Took perfect keyboard as it had some nice themes, was a comfortable keyboard to work with, had all the settings I needed for it and when you disabled spell check on your phone it did not throw up the middle finger.

Too many of the ppl I speak too use short hand "mxit speek" so its really a waste for me to typing all prim and proper all the time and spell check keeps correcting my shorthand, not to mention it wastes screen real-estate, especially in landscape mode.

OP - This is probably the best file explorer i have used: FX File Explorer (FREE)

As a smartphone user, one of the apps most used in my arsenal has to be my file explorer. The thing that bothers me about the existing browsers on the Market is not their quality or usability, but the fact that they lack a more intuitive interface that goes beyond just alphabetical order. XDA Senior Member tliebeck has invented a file explorer that has just what I was looking for.

Called FX File Explorer, the app has a plethora of features. Not only does it sort files by media type, but within that media the everything is categorized, making it easier to browse. Once you find the file your looking for, it can be sent to another phone via Bluetooth, or over WiFi for a speed boost if your on the same network.

The application is still in the beta phase, with new features being added all the time, and is completely ad-free.

My SwiftKey doesn't do spell checking, doesn't do auto correct and has learnt a lot of my shorthand. Setup differences??

Sorry, meant that suggestions bar. Waste of space as I will never, ever, ever use it.
Also find SKs keys to be a bit close together, I dunno, tried a few keyboard, mostly using the pirates discount card and eventually settled on PK and bought a copy of that.

I love the suggestions/predictions!

With the biggish keyboards you've shown, there is an option to reduce them. With SK3 this makes it even nicer to use!
