Stay on topic pls.
Come across Vanilla Player in the meantime.
Good player. But folder search and music selection can be tricky at first.
Only real gripe is the lack of multi track selection for adding tracks to a playlist.
Even with the lack of EQ, the sound quality is great. From Dance to Rock, I'm pleased.
I'll wait till my coffers are looking better and get back to PowerAmp Pro.
EDIT: Just been playing around with the settings for this player - Versatile like a mofo.
sorry for derailing slightly![]()

Google navigation is voice guided. So basically, yes. Almost every droid nowadays has that (or you can get it from the play store if it isn't installed by default)
I don't really count my data to be honest.
However, you can cache map sets offline. For example, when you're on wifi at home, select the make available offline and you are presented with a resizeable square which you use to specify which area you want to cache. (up to ~ 80 MB per map set) You can save up to 6 maps sets this way. I have cached the whole Pretoria and Jo'burg area and all the way past Groblersdal, as I go there often enough. You can also give each map set a name.
Edit: the great thing is, even though Navigation is a separate app from Maps, they use the same maps if you have them cached.
Music player - besides Google Play and preferable free at the moment (counting the days till Payday):/
Google's players' EQ is rubbish.
And my 2 week trial of PowerAmp just caved
What you all using?
EDIT: Oh and the UI should hopefully be able to browse folders as well please! I hate that Google Play can't do that.
I'm still using the MIUI app posted on this thread by Elimentals. Less than 1mb, it does everything you ask. It's well worth a look.
Here
Thanks - I'll check it out.
Vanilla Player was also less than 1MB and is tricky to get srarted with at first, but then grows on you.
I'll give your and Elimentals' suggestion a go as well
Just wondering if that apk will work with 4.1.2...?
EDIT: Installed and its good for a barebones player. Can't seem to find the equalizer for some reason - even though its set to show it at all times![]()

I'm intrigued by SMS Morning Call.
From TFA: Are you in the habit of forgetting to an alarm on your phone, every time you have to get up on time to make it for that important appointment at work, or even in your personal life. Well, if so, then your forgetfulness can well get you into a lot of trouble at work, or with the girlfriend.
And the only person who actually remembers your schedule is your good friend from work, who has saved your skin for being late on more occasions than you can remember. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if your friend can wake you up in the morning, or remind you of an appointment or meeting that you are likely to forget, given your excellent memory?
Well, how about this – your friend sends you an SMS with a predefined keyword that just the two of you know, and the SMS triggers an actual alarm notification on your phone, at max volume. Now that is something that’s gonna be hard to miss, right? And if this could be the saving grace you have been looking for all this while, your wish seems to have been granted.
SMS Morning Call is a brand new app by developer MC Koo, which does exactly that, and a lot more. All you need to do, is install SMS Morning Call on your Android device, set up a keyword in the app, share the keyword with your pal, and you’re all set to never wake up late in the morning, or miss another appointment or meeting, provided your buddy remembers, that is. You can even set the volume and alarm ringtone of your choice, and when your pal sends you the SMS with the keyword, the app displays a popup and starts buzzing the alarm ringtone.
Show me one oke here for whom that WASN'T the first thought and I'll show you a bald-faced liar.Sounds like a great prank.
Cool. And how's the data usage when using Google Maps?
