You mean a central application that keeps all your music/videos/apps/photos/contacts synced and up to date across all your devices? Terrible.
The fact that it is compulsory and has no alternatives, that's terrible.

So? It's a very valid point.

So you can't customize your iOS and have to adhere to someone else's way of thinking.

Good for you.

But isn't that true of most OS? Android is the exception to the rule. As I've pointed out before, that's a strength of Android and not a weakness of iOS.

Why would I need an alternative when it does everything I want it to? What program do you use to sync your android devices?

It's a strength that iOS fails to deliver, in my opinion, a weakness.

Doesn't it first force you to use Apples media formats and only copy over files it recognises?
I use ES file manager from my phone and access my phone over LAN and then copy what I want. Of course there is also kies and many other sync programs to choose from. Or just normal USB mass storage mode

If Android was developed by anyone but Google would it be as popular though? I'm overlooking the pains of awful battery life when looking for my next Android phone purely because the majority of online experiences revolve around at least one Google product so it makes sense to stay with them for that. Hell, even Larry Page says that Android is just a delivery mechanism for their products.

Well you can get devices that last long, My SE Play lasts 5-6 days on a single charge.

Yes we do as that view removes the ability to copy your own music off the device, not to mention other limitations like downloading media from other sites onto the device for consumption.

No, I'm asking if we care that Apple frowns upon 3rd party apps used as an alternative to iTunes?

I don't, any ideas of what to use with a 32GB 4th Gen Touch ?

It has never been able to play music, because of iTunes (I refuse to use this garbage).

I love iTunes, seriously, I use it extensively so unfortunately I'm not sure which one of the alternatives would best suit your needs.

Elimentals will know...

Do we care?
Lets see, my friend has an ipod synced with her laptop, her laptop went in for repairs and had to have the hdd replaced, she lost all her music on her laptop but its backed up on her ipod, except everytime she tries to connect now itunes wants to wipe her ipod. Hence I never have and never will own an apple product while they force us to use their **** software

Yeah, I get it, I get it!!!!

In fact I think it was me that posted a list of alternatives.

I asked the question, do we care if Apple frowns upon the "iTunes alternatives"? No we don't!!

If you don't like iTunes and don't want to use it, don't, use 1 of the 30 other pieces of software out there that will let you copy and paste, drag and drop, rip and pirate...
