Android vs. WP vs. iOS

Personally I currently prefer WP.

I've had an Android phone previously and I had endless issues with bugs in the OS, crashes, apps force closing. I'm sure it's been improved but having used WP now for the past 3 years I find it very stable, fast, smooth and the Nokia hardware is gorgeous:love:

Drawbacks of WP would probably be no notification centre(Coming in 8.1), no quick access settings(Coming in 8.1), no VPN support(Rumoured to be in 8.1), no 802.1x auth(You guessed it, 8.1)

Also the OS is very restrictive for developers in certain ways, WhatsApp only recently received the ability to send pre-recorded videos, but the restrictions are there for security reasons.

Currently there is no way to root WP devices other than a couple of Samsung phones and even then what you can do is fairly limited

The argument of it lacks apps isn't really valid any more as nearly all the big name apps are available for it now.

I won't touch anything Apple

Out of curiosity, which WP do you have and what android did you have before it?

I've had a Lumia 800, 620 and currently on the 925

I had a SGS2 that I used for about a year.

I dont understand how you had issues with the S2 it been the most stable device I have ever had, it never ever crashed.

TW was horrible but any hardware company cant really do software. so you replace the samsung, HTC, sony,LG,Lenovo, motorola or huwawi version of Android wiht a newer better one, made by the internet and not by a company that made the device.

I honestly belive that hardware and software companies should not be one entity, give me stock, rooted android configured for the chipset and be done that way when a update comes around its much faster.

Like a swinging pendulum I have swayed between iOS and Android. I've owned every iPhone and every iPad. I've owned Samsung and HTC Android phones and tablets. If there was a clear advantage of the one over the other I would have come to rest with one of the OSs by now, but I haven't. I love iOS and I hate iOS. I love Android and I hate Android. It is not like Mac vs Windows where Mac easily won me over. I don't believe anyone will make a mistake going with iOS or Android. I hate Windows 8, so my opinion of Windows Phone will be biased so I will not comment on that option.
