Anglo American's woes have inspired the EFF to call for government to nationalise the mining house.


"The EFF calls for the nationalisation of all Anglo-American mining assets with a view to stop massive job losses and hunger," the party said in a statement.

Anglo American plans to slash its workforce to 50,000 from 135,000 according to Reuters, a move the EFF says demonstrates that, "private capital is failing to manage the mining business".

"Above robbing the country of its tax base, they now plan to cast more workers into unemployment and hunger, thus transferring the burden to the state and the people’s taxes they have failed to contribute to," the party said.

"EFF calls on Anglo-American to surrender all mining assets to the state with a guaranteed ownership share by the workers directly," the party said.

"The natural minerals they have extracted have only ever benefited the bosses and their families, leaving many towns in hunger and destitution without any development and expansion into manufacturing. Anglo-American must fall!" The EFF declared.

I was thinking about their retarded ABSA plan. They're going to rock up there expecting to see old, bearded white men wearing khaki and tannies behind the tellers? They will soon discover that they will be pissing off mainly non-whites working, and queuing at ABSA.

There are several mines belonging to the government.
I'm not referring to Chancellor House illegal diamond mines in the DRC.
And all of them are not making profits.
What a surprise!!

Then we can have a job for life and sleep in the workplace like all the rest of our comrades.

Because 85,000 job losses is fukking huge. Huge internationally, monumentous in a small country.
