So the new Aygo is in the country & once the car price is not something totally stupid.

All models include a decent-sized infotainment screen even.

PRICES

Aygo 1.0 - R 138 900
Aygo X-play Black 1.0 - R139 900
Aygo X-play Silver 1.0 - R 139 900

These include a three-year or 100 000km warranty; a service plan is a extra-cost option - unless you're one of the first 1000 Aygo customers, in which case Toyota SA will throw it in for free.

Only one missing from the trio now is the Pug 108

PS: the rear of this car looks very close to the MG 3.

Was looking forward to this car but just realised the only model available is the watered down one. Sad because the ones in Europe are kitted really well.

Just add a mag and tint then this thing will look gevaarlik o pal!

Lol, with 1.0L it's angry like a newborn puppy...

Not into the whole mag thing but would've liked the drl and fogs plus the climate control and smart key. Had the older one and they're amazing on fuel. As it would be a daily for some, it would be nice to have more creature comforts and features.

51kw,what a joke. I get 92kw with my 1.0L. Turbo is love, turbo is life:)

+1
0-100km/h takes 15 seconds ... at sea level
Even a 1960's 1600cc VW Beetle will feel nippy in comparison.

As an owner of a '72 Beetle 1600, which is in mint condition, I can agree, I take on a lot of small cars at the lights, Kia Picanto, hyundai i10, people forget how fast those beetles were / are when properly maintained :D

Fork me thats Ugly. Looks like some kind of insect, Praying Mantis maybe?

I think that this thing could sell well, if they lose the dodgy colour scheme and advertise it well.

My question is, in today's market, who wants to buy a 1.0 with no torque especially up here in Joburg? I don't understand how they sell these cars here, even the Yaris still has a 1.0 option, and that's all you can get with the Up!, I just don't get it, these cars all look really awesome for their respective price brackets, but those engines are an immediate turn off for a lot of people me thinks.

A lot of people want something cheap where petrol is light on the pocket as well.

Yes I understand that, but having no power in a car can be dangerous, up here at altitude ours cars put out 20 - 30 % less power than at sea level, look at the Renault Sandero, standard with a 900cc turbo, not extremely powerful, but the turbo compensates for the lack of oxygen up here, these are also not expensive cars and they are light on fuel.
