And yet the government will still not intervene in the anarchy that is the Taxi industry. When Helen Zille attempts to do so in her own city she is labelled a racist dictator.

Taxi drivers' lives will be the forfeit for continuing government inaction. This country is turning ordinary citizens into murderers. I hope they're happy :/
 
Yep, today I watched a taxi almost hit a blind person with a cane as it went around the corner. It is doubtful whether the idiot behind the wheel even comprehended what had almost happened.
 
i was harrassed on friday afternoon by a taxi guard who first wanted a lift on my bike and when i told him he can walk he sat on my bike whilst he called for passangers. when i told him he better get off the bike he threatened me and told me he would throw me off my bike and ride away with it.


lets see him try that.
 
Strange article - nowhere does it say the taxi driver was killed. ?

Johannesburg - About 20 people apparently attacked a taxi driver after he allegedly knocked over and killed a teenager in Katlehong on Saturday, said Ekurhuleni police.

Spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said the driver, aged 44, was alleged to have knocked over a 14-year-old boy who died on Saturday afternoon.

Witnesses said that an angry mob of more than twenty people attacked the driver with various objects accusing him of speeding following the crash.

The driver was taken to Natalspruit hospital to be treated for the serious injuries sustained from the assault.

This story would have been much cooler if the incident took place in Sandton.. and the people that beat this guy to death were from the higher sections of the socio economic structure...

I agree, but the thing is each and every member of that mob would be arrested and face jail time.
 
ANC rule = mob rule, vigilante justice, inequitable application of the law.

We're talking about high society individuals here. If a few got caught, they're not going down without taking the rest with.
 
and the law would have given the "alleged" killer (taxi driver) just a bail out card ?

No thanks. Idols is bad enough.

Government should build proper public transport, and take the taxi industries to task for damage caused during mass action.
