Annoying iOS Network Notifications on Telkom Mobile

For the last few months, I keep getting these USSD-type notifications on my phone. It seems to be related to handover between cells, and it definitely happens more during loadshedding. When driving, it seems to happen every minute or so, and it is becoming really annoying. Anyone else getting this? See the attached photos.
The notifications disappear after a few seconds without any interaction, and when I unlock my phone there is nothing that requires attention or any record of the notification at all. I have tried updating the carrier settings... updated iOS multiple times. Restarted the phone, removed and re-inserted the sim.... nothing helps.

From Settings>General>About: Network Provider: TelkomSA 50.0

I don't get these at all and I'm also on Telkom.
 
Just guessing but is it possibly related to some technical glitch between Vodacom/Telkom when you ported your number last year?
Diesel's reply to your Sep. post sounds like similar issue, especially as it's worse during load shedding when you're driving.

You might be on to something there. Seems highly likely that the porting may be the cause. Question is, can it be resolved?
At this point, I’m considering porting back to vodacom just because of the hundreds and hundreds of network notifications a day

This week I tried another Vodacom prepaid number to port to Telkom.

The port worked in that the Telkom SIM now has the Vodacom number but the Vodacom SIM is still active and its been more than a day since the port.

If I send an sms to the number it goes to the new sim (where it should) but system generated smss (like when you register WhatsApp or Uber) only go to the old Vodacom SIM.

Any ideas?

Who do I take this up with, Vodacom or Telkom?

I get SMSes for my data SIM on my main aim whenever there's loadshedding
