Hetzner follows 44% price cut a few weeks ago with another 20% price cut today

Let me be the first to congratulate Hetzner on this price cut. It is certainly very welcome from MyBroadband’s perspective

Web Africa is also planning significant savings on its hosting products. “There will be real cost savings in excess of 50%+ in many cases,” said Web Africa CEO Matthew Tagg.

I wonder what WA's timelines are on this.

At the moment, Web Africa charges R300/GB for overages!

I think they are gong to need a cut far, far, far in excess of 50% to become competitive.

Hi have local and international hosting packages with WA and constantly moaning at them about their limits.
Time to open up one at Afrihost and slowly move the sites over. WA are definately being left behind. Pity. Been with them for so long now.

The worst is their disk space limits. 3GB. For unlimited domains, this is so useless. Oh well.

But big congratulations to Afrihost and Hetzner. Gives us all a lot of hope for the future.

Dam I hope WA get their ****e into gear and soon !! I have my site hosted by them and my bandwidth has grown exponentially !! I want to move ASAP but I am giving them the benefit of the doubt thinking they will drop their prices and soon , however not sure if I can afford to much longer !!! WA please note our pleas !!

I wouldn't bank on that. They are talking only about possible price changes in Q1 2010.
