Hi all,

Looking for a SUV to replace my SO's Mini. My ideal preference (X3 xDrive20d) seems to be scarce on the second hand market so looking for recommendations.

Ideally 2017+
A bunch of airbags
Diesel hopefully but a economical Petrol is okay.
Bluetooth (as some cars still don't have???)
Parking sensors
IsoFix
Automatic

And under R450k.

Toyota Cross was an option but yeah. Can anyone
recommend a car with a decent second hand parts market and comfortable to be in as I have back problems.

You have already said it, why are you still looking at other sub standard Suvs?

Would have said Nissan Pathfinder, but the newest secondhand is 2014.

X3 3.0D, good luck finding one :(

You can also look VW touareg, just dont buy one with air suspension, only cost 30k per strut to replace at the dealership. Parts are plenty and plenty of people that works on them.

I was going to suggest a Touareg but since it's OP's SO's wheels, (s)he might not be comfortable with a larger vehicle.

Also, auto or manual? ALL car parts are expensive, but I have found that the more popular models have somewhat cheaper spares for the inevitable things that go wrong. Think Tiguan, EcoSport, Fortuner. etc.

If you don’t mind a manual:

2017 Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TDI Comfortline

Saw one at WBC but wasn't happy with it late last year. Should have just bit the bullet and just dealt with repairs as I know a great BMW mechanic
