I know there are battleping threads but I'm not finding anything really recent.

How is battleping these days? Both myself and my wife play on the same 4mb line so we get some latency issues when raiding and I am thinking of going battleping.

Is the people happy with their service or is there other good alternatives?

btw, we get around 380 - 450 ms latency when we are both in raids at the moment.

No clue on proxy services. I tried ReduceTheLag but it was even worse.
Im on a 2mb DSL with WebAfrica Home, i put on Leatrix registry fix and i sit on about 200 - 240ms in 25 man raids

try it without proxy sometimes its better :)

proxy add few ms if your isp does give wow highest prioty, or it will give better pings if they shape it a bit.

as lowest ping without wtfast, is 168ms, and with it about 176ms or so

yes that does work wonders, though you enable it inside wow the optimize network thing, be default on now

I see on their site that the 2 things are not quiet the same where Leatrix forces acknowledgement packets to go back. It makes sense that it could increase performance as well, depending if bliz implemented something on the server side to not wait for acknowledgements though.

Leatrix is now redundant thanks to some of blizzards network changes, but then again it made no difference for me.

I use WA and Battleping. Have a constant latency of 180-190, very intermittently jumps above 200. Reducethelag didnt work for me, almost no difference. WTFast is just rubbish, gave me a higher latency.

I recommend BP and WA... no better combination. 4 people should be able to raid perfectly fine on a 4mb line, 2 people shouldnt create lag, thats definitely the account.

I tried Leatrix last night on both machines and if we both are logged in I saw close to 100ms per machine improvement

works for some, and not for others. think it depends on where you live hey. it works for me, latency is about 250ms on average better than without
