I've been asked to recommend a laptop for someone.
She was recommended the following by incredible deception:

Currently Esquire have the following on special (8999 excl VAT) which I think will be a better choice:

Please recommend a laptop for R10k.
Will be used for general purposes and also to create and upload Youtube videos.

If you make it R11000 you can get the Samsung NP600 i7 with 6GB RAM

Picked up the following for R7999 at Dion Wired on Monday.

Dell Inspiron 5000 15" (Aluminium finish)
3 year warranty
5th gen Core i5
8GB RAM
1TB HDD
Radeon R7 260
HD (1366x768 screen) - not the highest resolution but it a very good screen otherwise.
Windows 8.1 (I did the free upgrade to Windows 10. If you google you will see there are still legal ways to get it free)

Feels like a bargain. Last years model I think.
