No wonder everyone fights with you :/
It's your practise of using brightness against plasma which leads to people questioning it, because brightness is not a top priority when it comes to analysing picture quality, especially according to pro sites like CNET (thanks wily), therefore it does not count against plasma the way you make it out to be (possibly to potential consumers seeking information on picture quality etc). Only certain situations, such as rooms with high ambient light, or for people whose preference is high brightness (and subsequent washed out colours and subsequent loss of detail).
