Room conditions is one of the first and foremost questions I pose.

Much like projectors suffer from ambient light.
The same applies to all TV viewing, darkened rooms are the best to show contrast and picture quality. It also just happens that most people view their TVs at night, or their rooms are designed exactly as HT rooms (less sunlight etc).
My tvs are both two years old. Got a Samsung 6 series 50 inch 1080p plasma and a 46 inch 200Hz motionflow Sony LCD.
When I see the new tv's in shops they all look pretty darn good. The LCDs and LED's look a lot better than when I was buying in all honesty. I hardly see ghosting and the black levels are awesome. By the same token, Plasmas havent stood still and just as good in PQ obviously with slight differences. (reflectivity in some models is a huge issue though and is one thing that I believe should be taken into account). The thing is though, none of the tvs actually look leaps and bounds ahead of my tvs at home. They are probably better but nothing noticeable that makes me giddy about buying them. Whats most attractive is the shiny cases and slimness. The reason I am buying a new tv now is I want something bigger, not because of new tech. Both my tvs are perfectly watchable, and I wouldnt spend the extra for a 10% improvement.

You better start referencing your claims with links, before making wild statements. In this case you need to marry a persons special and permanent condition (which does not exist - common sense) with evidence that the permanent condition matches your perception and is therefore the truth. There you go - go and do your research.....
Forever and ever to be the same. Everyone better think before they answer such a dubious question.
When they answer that their room has unfavourable viewing conditions, LCDs are recommended.
You say it yourself - unfavourable, so you didn't read icemans post properly - got ya.![]()
But you jumped down my throat?Well you took long enough, but we work through these things together no matter how long it takes.
Good move, these threads deteriorate rapidly after the first page.
But you jumped down my throat?![]()
Let me assist you along to the second post in this thread - http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...D-LED-Thread?p=8308481&viewfull=1#post8308481.
There he goes again and again and again and again. Any Psychiatrists resident on MyBB please!
... bets on when it'll be closed and when the next plasma vs LCD thread pops up?
But you jumped down my throat?![]()
Bud and I know the usual suspect will come here and say otherwise, LED is the only way to go.

Hell marine you must have damaged his resident ego with that post!
Any Psychiatrists resident on MyBB please! Someone is in need of serious help.

Now that they've finished speaking on your behalf, I must say I would rather talk to you directly about the issue and be much more constructive.
If you do not want me jumping down your throat (exaggerated, you took it personally), then do not open your throat to me. Do not cry out when I talk only facts which correlate with professional review sites' testing methodologies, and among others, the bringer of wisdom and justice, iceman23.
To be honest I don't know what you think respect is.
