I appreciate this forum does not like every bad story to be posted - as it is counter productive.
However, this bothers me immensely.

This kid is almost the same age as my oldest, and probably goes to her school. That filling station mentioned is a few kms at most from my house - this story could well have been about me.

What the hell does a 13 year old on the way to school need to die for?

This country is indeed sick - and the government is failing miserably.

Life is so short.

Just heard the story on 702. Three people have been arrested. An innocent child has died and two families are left traumatized. Its too much!

eish...what can we do
I think its stuff like this that just makes ppl minds "crack" so to speak...
Necklace the Police Commissioner, finish and klaar!

and then deal with the rest of the guavamint. and while during normal times I'll say every person has the right to live, bring the death sentence back with correct criteria to get stuff sorted out.

So Sad, but lets not forget the other 49 murders today in SA, and on top of that the 150 rapes that take place each and every single day. The country is worse than a war zone. Its sick and I am just so glad that I have managed to get my wife and two daughters out of there.

Yeah - I just posted this because it struck so close to me.
My wife drives that road everyday at that time.
My kid goes to school with this kid, in all likelihood.

Bring back the death penalty!

tired of murderers getting away with 5 years life sentence!

Maybe if there is harsher punishment they will think twice.

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I dont wanna be all funny and sh*t, but doesnt this stuff seems to get all closer and closer to us?...In the past, youve always just "heard" about it...now, you start "living" it

Shoot to kill policy FTW!

Why were most of the comments removed? Blacks vs. Whites flame war?

I did not see the comments - but were it so, then I agree with their removal.
Nowhere did I see that the kid was white or black or Indian or whatever.
The primary schools here are heavily white - but there are many other races. My child's one best friend is black, another is Indian (and around 5 are white).

And this would not be because your children are discriminating, but rather purely because of the amount of people of certain colours who could be in a certain school. The reasons are various, money being most pertinent. Quick question, what will you be doing when your son/daughter/fiancé/wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend/best friend is dead in 20 minutes? Sit and think about this for a few moments. Think of what the absence of that person in your life will mean. Then answer this question, even if just to yourself.

New measures are needed in this country.

ARgh! Again i read about people bitching about the crime. Bud you have no idea how truely bad it really is out there. I've seen it with my own two eyes, the choas that is South Africa. What was my point again... ah

Yes, first off, your pissed off well, join the gang. Sorry Mr middle to upper income, you need to start being a little more proactive. Report anything that raises the hair on your back. Form neighbour hood watch groups. Have people patrol the streets at night in an unmarked bakkie. You can't rely on other people to do the job, so you've got to go out and do it your self.
And before you ask, Yes i do help out in my community. How i do it, well i wont say, cos it could get me into a lot of trouble. And again... its nothing to do with violence, a set of eyes are always needed by the police.

We have just those measures in place. Only difference between now and before is "we" catch the criminals. It does not stop the crime.

In the last photo on the photos section of the article you can see her legs, she was white. (Of course the race of the perpetrators is a mystery.)
