Any recommendations for a new 55" TV?
Willing to spend R15k

Had a look at the 55KU7000 and similar LG 55UH603, but I've no clue whats what these days.

Is Hisense a reputable manufacturer these days?
Sorry for my ignorance, but I've seen Hisense devices in the past which were mediocre at best...

Depends on how often you are prepared to keep up with technology and the Jones' next door.

A friend and I went on the same day to buy TVs, I bought an el cheapo Hi Sense, he went for a Samsung. My Hi Sense is still working 4 years later, his SS broke once during warranty and then again out of warranty. He now has a LG -----

I will feel very little if the Hi Sense were to pack up, he will be very upset if his new LG broke.

My next TV will be a hisense, they look good and that 4yr warranty.

I need to look at UHD next for my new upstairs man cave.

Hisense has only started supporting the official UHD premium standard from 2017.

Bought a HiSense UHD 55" Smart TV in December. Don't think its the latest model.

Can confirm it works beautifully for gaming. Seems to upscale 1080p content and no lag at all.

Overall very happy with this TV.
