Another unknown error.

I decided to test Oblivion with my anti-virus disabled (having that stuttering problem but anyway) and I finished up and restarted the PC to enable the AV again ......... blank screen! Went into blind panic mode (coz that's how us tech noobs roll ) and restarted again. Got to a page where it states that something went wrong due to a hardware/software change blah blah and it gives you options to start in safe mode, last known working configuration, etc (first time I've seen this so bear with not knowing what that page is). So I selected 'start windows normally' and everything went about as usual.

So what I want to know is, was that crash hardware related or just some typical Windows foolery? Info appreciated

I think it might've been a software error caused by the anti-virus. I've had AVG 7.5 do this to me before
