I agree with the printed leaflets idea... but perhaps we can take it a step further... The majority of people in these forums have access to a printer.

Why doesn't every single one of us print out 500 sheets each of a well thought out flyer or advert - giving all the facts, with a hard hitting message. This can be translated into all of the official languages.

Then we can go wild. Give an unemployed guy at a robot R50 to hand them out to passing cars (thus creating a job, promise to come back next week with another R50) ... stick them on the counter at the local pizza place, give a pile to the newspaper vendors, stick them on shop windows, stick them along walls by the thousands, drop them out of high up office buildings, stick them on car windscreens, stick them up on notice boards, stick them to lampposts... stick them on teklom vans, teklom streetside boxes, stick them absolutley everywhere...

The whole point of the exercise is to get the average man in the street to wake the hell up and smell the bitter coffee that is teklom. We can get our message across, cheaply, by using nothing more than a home / office printer and a R30 ream of paper.

Come on people... Who would be willing to come up with a hard hitting, well designed one A4 page flyer that goes straight for the throat? Perhaps it could be sent out as a mass mailer to every member of MyAdsl - all you need to do is print it, then distribute it by whatever means you can think of.

I believe this to be a good idea, some of you may disagree, but if we can all come up with different ideas, and methods, plans, and suggestions, then we are well on our way to sorting this out once and for all.

The Antitrust Flyer is a good one, but may need to be simplified a lot more in order for the masses to understand what our message is. We need something that will grab the attention of the reader, and explain to them in laymans terms, what is actually going on. If we could do this, in all the official languages, I am sure we could reach a lot of people...

If you were selling something with a flyer you just want to tell the person;
what it is,
where he can get it
and how much it costs.

In respect to the above you want to unsell something, but you sell them the concept that "telkom is ripping off the people, and why he should care!"
What he can do about it ie. tell others, write to his local MP
Tell him what are the alternatives to telkom

But who is the public you want to tell? the message you give to a housewife in suburbia is different to a guy who lives in a rural community who has never had a phone, and as such where people can get further information - not a website, if they dont even have phones!

As far as tanslation, I can think of only four other offical languages that peolpe around Joburg speak/read.
