I think it is a scam... there is no way an audio file can "cancel out" another audio source unless they both originate from the same source... and even then it will be problematic. All it will do is make a bigger noise than the Vuvuzelas. But the buzzing noise irritation will remain.

Noise cancelling needs to basically push out the exact opposite waveform of the noise it wants to cancel.

A static Mp3 cannot do this.

An active system would be needed, like the one used in noise cancelling earphones in a way. The problem is, on earphones the signal you want to hear is separate from the outside noise. An external microphone is all that's needed in that case, and an inverted and slightly offset version of the noise recorded by the microphone is added to the signal to cancel the noise.

To remove the Vuvuzela's noise you'd have to filter out certain frequencies. That would degrade the sound quality, but should still allow you to hear the commentary OK.

I think I am starting to wish there was a way to not have the vuvuzela on all the time... I miss the singing and cheering.
It seems the only way to quieten the vuvuzela is if we lose. :-(

It's certainly not a scam, the anti-vuvuzela mp3 works, but only for spherical vuvuzelas in a vacuum.

All this noise and they wont let me burst fireworks for guy fawks day.... how will a vuvuzela sound to a dog being blown in a neighborhood vs a firework being sent rocketing into the air? if not i would assume the vuvuzela will be louder for a dog's hearing....where is the SPCA for this?
