Hi all

This is a thread to just let people know how their money has been spent. As some of you may or may not know, some people who had donated to the MyADSL warchest requested that Peapod pass their money onto us.

Peapod accordingly transferred R3100 to Antitrust. I don't know who exactly the money came from, and how much came from each person, but we do thank you very much. I cannot 'prove' that peapod sent us R3100. If you have questions about this, or want some kind of proof, then please contact Peapod. I'm sure she can arrange for a bank statement to be printed out if there are serious questions.

Of this R3100:

R1250 was spent on our protest banner (the big 3m x 1m canvass banner, picture of which was in The Citizen recently)

R250 was spent on phone calls and internet access (I sometimes have to go to an Internet cafe to get online....about R40 was spent in this way, the rest on cellphone airtime vouchers to call Icasa, Antitrust members, the media and other pertinent calls)

R400 was spent on T-shirts for Antitrust members for our protests

So, in total, R1900 has been spent thus far. We have R1200 left in the kitty.

I have the invoices for all the money spent, and will scan and post them online sometime. In the meantime I just wanted to let all know how their money has been spent.

(Suggestions for further spending welcome. I think advertising at robots might be a good next move...?).

Use it to, like somebody suggested in another thread (MaD, maybe? Am to lazy to check :p) spray some anti-teklom story on some taxis...

Why, spray paint isn't that expensive? And there are quite some artist on these forums! Ask antowan... ;)

Stickers would rock... Millions of them ;)

They last longer than pamphlets and people are more likely to accept them at traffic lights, shopping malls etc. Makes them feel like they're getting something.

Arrange a meeting with ICASA and spend R100 in the petrol trip to and from their offices.
Find out exactly why these buggers don't stick to their deadlines.
What happened to the 4 weeks to get the ADSL draft regulations ready. It should have been out 3 months ago but still hasn't been released. Some serious incompetence or corruption must have happened.

I like the stickers idea. Maybe sell them to genetate more revenue as well

Nah. Give them away. First person to get a photo of a Telkom van with a Hellkom/Antitrust sticker on the bumper wins a prize :D

OMG that will be funny :D

All members should have ammo at hand at all times (a few stickers). Whenever a Telkom van is spotted on the roadside it must be ATTACKED!!!!!
Go into stealth mode and put a sticker on the van undetected then make an escape.
A cell phone piccy is all you need, hehehe

The sticker idea is a good one. A lot of people wouldn't have any problem with sticking one on their car.

Hi Debbie,

I have an idea which maybe could fit with your work.

Sponsor a busy robot - I could do one.

employ existing people at busy robots equipped with a
body banner and leaflets handed out to motorists.

I guess one could pay Rxx.00 per morning plus costs of banner and leaflets.

Groups of say five could sponsor a robot.

Let's man all the busy robots.
