:confused:If there is someone in PE who can give me guidance with this software I would be pleased to hear from them, preferable PM. I'm 79 years old and have the 2015 Version on my PC. I use it to backup files and Outlook but need help with Disk Imaging.

I personally prefer using the Acronis Boot CD and creating an image of the entire Disk. Less chance of problems.

Also, and I don't always do this, if you have enough space available, making two backups is a good idea even if it's on the same disk. That way of one backup was unsuccessful or becomes corrupt, you have another one.

It depends on selected options and free disk space. If you know that file system is healthly you can chose to copy only occupied space. It can take from few minutes to 2-4 hours. If you chose to do sector-by-sector image (the safest method), it will always take maximum time.

Another story is when disk has reading problems. In such case it can take even few days, or disk might decide to die before copy is finished. If you see slowing down, it is the best to interrupt copying and use a specialised program which is able to skip errors and log results.
