Hi,

I use to use Wirral, but then it keeps showing that 40days trial thing which I see as irritating. Is there any really good and free software that is similar to what winrar does?

Also, is there any software that I could get for the iPad that will let me make a wifi hotspot on it?

Thanks

You could try 7zip?

+1. Use 7zip - it's free and open source, and can open .Zip, .Rar, and many other compressed file formats. If you use the .7zip file format, you'll also be getting one of the best compression ratios in the industry.

WinRar is cool too, just press "close" each time when it says to register? Not THAT annoying considering it's FREE

And the compression on 7-zip is great. Some archives can be over 2mb smaller than rar archives (compressing 20mb of files), depending on what you're compressing.
I like the WinRAR context menus and since WinRAR can extract 7z, I compress using 7z and extract with WinRAR. Even the normal .zip files created with 7z is smaller than zip files created with WinZip or WinRAR... No idea how.

You can try removing the nag screen (for educational purposes) by following this tutorial

But another +1 for 7zip from me :)
