Hi myBB

I have this problem with my knees, especially my right knee.
I can't put any weight on my knees like going up or down stairs, squatting in the gym or just plain standing up from a seated position!
Doing something like this mention above results in an immense pain!

I have asked my GF if there is any knee doctors at her work, she works as a pharmacist at Linksfield hospital, and there are two doctors Dr. Firer and Dr. McCready.

Anyone know if they are any good and which one is the best?

Don't know about those 2 but a Doctor Glen Vardi at Rosebank Hospital specialises in knees. Telephone 011 788 5110. He did the 2nd of my two knee replacements.

Dr. McCready is good doctor to check out. depending on the issue - it may only be a overnight stay.

I saw Dr Gebhard at Linksfield and he suggested physiotherapy which made the knee pain worse. I had the op last year in CT and very happy with the result. I have been pain-free for the first time in 5 years.

osteoarthritis. R10 wager. If it is then a course of Synvisc injections may help return to near normality.

Could be.

I had a similar problem with my hip. Xray showed nothing wrong but some inflammation and the doctor suggested a biokineticist. Injection, massage and some excercise (Yuk) have helped.

Had to have a menisectomy last year, where worn cartilage in the knee is removed to smoothen the joint. Dr Rian Steyn At the Zuid-Afrikaans in Pretoria sorted me out. It cost a bit, but was in hospital for 1 night only.

Do you think I should rather see a GP first or go directly to a specialist? My medical aid will cover both.

Don't waste time with a GP just go straight to specialist. I don't even have a GP whatever ails I just head for the specialist to the corresponding body part
