For some reason, after a recent upgrade, kget won't download anything, it just sits on stalled. wget works with no problem. Anyone have any tricks I can try?

I've deleted everything under .kde/share/apps/kget but that hasn't fixed anything.

I've never encountered this myself, but you could try to run kget from the command line and see if it gives any meaningful output.

@bleh: can't find logs for kget.

@skaapgif: tried that, and only errors I could see were to nepomuk, which I've disabled. (What kget wants to do with nepomuk, I fail to see!)

I've found a file, kgetrc, under .kde/share/config which I've also deleted and rebuilt, so will see whether that is the problem.

Thanks for looking and commenting!

If you did a mayor update of KDE (from say 4.4 to 4.5) it is a good idea to log into a clean KDE session since there might be conflicts with old configs and paths, etc.
Code:
logout of KDE
ctrl+F1
login as user
cd ~
mv .kde4 .kdeold

You may of course want to first make a backup of your entire desktop theme and settings in System Settings and save it where you can easily get to it. The old dir is still there if you forgot to backup something, so only delete that dir once you are happy you got everything back.

Log back in. Try again and see if this sorted it. If it didn't then there is a bug with your kget.
