Any recommendations for Douglasdale?

Apologies for the highly specific request, but seems this area is plagued by ADSL issues and now to add to my headache my road (Galloway Avenue) seems to occupy a tiny area on Telkom's LTE map that isn't covered (seems I'm in a white patch surrounded by a sea of blue coverage, go figure).

Staying in the Savannah Sands complex in Galloway, can anyone recommend any viable internet options/ADSL alternatives?
 
My friend stays in Savannah Sands. Was there a couple of nights ago with my LTE router to test it for him (Telkom Mobile)

Better than any ADSL you are going to get in the area. I've been on TM 3g /LTE since I moved in (I'm one road up from you in Leslie/Inyati Sands) and it has served me well.
 
You can request a demo (they come and do a signal test) for Telkom LTE. I was +-2km outside the coverage area (Broadacres) and still managed to get around 27Mbps in all 4 quadrants of my house.

Telkom LTE is quite expensive and sadly the areas with "unlimited LTE" ummm... currently very LIMITED.
 
Telkom maps are not updated regularly, so test your connection.

Encouraging results @Hamster, I'm not too phased about speed but rather just having a consistent, stable connection. Seems the connection to Telkom LTE was okay then? Which router were you using?

@Napalm Do I just call up Telkom and ask them to swing by?

Been trying to find this out on Google with little success so maybe I can just piggyback this thread - would a router like the B593 do a better job of picking up signal than my cellphone? If I got say, 1 or 2 bars in a point in my house on my phone, could I conceivably get more using the router?

Is there any way to boost that signal without using big directional antennas? Really only need a small boost, I think.
 
I know this forum has been dead for about 2 years now,
But I recently moved into Savannah Sands.
If you still live in Savannah Sands, did you get any luck with internet in the complex?

I have that Uncapped LTE Contract with Telkom, got like 60-90MBps at my old place in Montana Pretoria, and now I'm barely getting 10MBps in the complex. Was thinking of going for Fibre or ADSL, but telkom also screwed me over on that.

Cancelled both my LATE contracts. Telkom went to scht here in Douglasdale.

Got fibre now so life is awesome. Might mean that the exchanges are opening up for ADSL if fibre is not available in Galloway Ave.
