Hi all,

So, you may have seen another thread that I started similar to this one...

I started this one to clear up what my problem is.

I am getting HORRIBLE ADSL speeds. My speed used to be great 0.31mbps down, 0.10mbps up.

Here are my speedtests:

International (New York as the Server Destination)

I want to verify that the problem does not lie on my computer. So, is there a software I can get that can somehow clean out my pc for anything that may slow down the internet? And a software that can tell me exactly what is using my internet? BTW: Im the only one using the internet (via Wi-Fi with WPA2-PSK encryption)

Here is my Line stats

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 384 kbps 128 kbps
Line Attenuation 30.0 db 18.0 db
Noise Margin 47.0 db 19.0 db

BTW: The Area I am in, is in Vincent, East London.

As for an app that's going to magically fix your computer, those one click wonder apps cause more problems than anything else and should be avoided like dodgy sites.

Just about any decent bandwidth meter or firewall will tell you what's using the connection and how much. The best/easiest way to rule out it being a problem with you PC would be to use another device, friends PC or laptop and download something at a time your connection should get full speed. If it's a problem with more than one device/PC it's probably not the device.

After that it's either the router, ADSL line or ISP, again maybe you could ask someone you know if you could try using their router or ISP connection just to see if it will rule out what may be causing a problem on your side.

Also having information like that and finding the culprit could help when confronting the ISP for example if it turns out that's what the problem is.

Try updating the firmware on the modem/router first, the easy one then go on to bigger things.
1- you could try tuneup utilities 2012 to squeeze a miracle,Believe me it works in some cases.
2- unsatisfied check cables, its happens.....
