Any Vumatel rep present?

Can someone from Vuma inform me if they are going to install fibre at Canterbury Village,Duncanville,Vereeniging.

Rest of the streets (eg. Louis Trichardt,Hendrik Potgieter...) have been trenched and fibre laid down...

Saw they trenched up to the entrance and see nothing else happening...

Between Vuma Vaal Fibre and Vumatel I get mixed reactions on installation...

This morning on FB Messenger I get the following...

"Hi, approvals have all been signed off and the build team will be making contact with the Body Corporate this week to arrange a date and time to start the build inside the complex."

Sent them a message back saying that those houses are free standing houses..meaning they should be treated as residential houses in a street. As far as I'm aware there is no Body Corporate.

Can someone give me feedback because as I'm aware the residential houses in Arconpark, Duncanville area are going live 1st week of October and seeing as nothing has been done at Canterbury Village.I'm afraid to place my order through Vumatel because I know I will only be dissapointed...

Okay so I saw on FB that Arconpark,Waldrift and Duncanville went live....except where I stay.

Misleading...
Looks like the AG you will connect to was signed off on the 30th of Sept, and customers can look to go live from the 28th of Oct.

Thing is...Andre phoned me yesterday and told me that they are at CV at the moment to do walkabout and waiting for the plan to be approved so they can start inside CV.

Meaning they haven't started anything inside CV...I highly doubt we will go live 28 Oct. Or am I missing something?

Ah, right, then in that case you are correct. I will find when the build will be complete then. I simply looked at the AG you would be connected to (which other parts of the suburb will be connected to as well)

By Andre, you mean from Telelanga?

Yes...Andre from Telelanga.
He was there with other people yesterday to see how to go about entering CV.

He send me a spreadsheet now. MDU SMI information spreadsheet...because there is no HOA or BC why don't they treat it as residential houses in a suburb.
I've popped a mail to Andre and the planning head from our side for the rollout there. I'll let you know.

Many thanks...as this is a frustration...all the houses around us is live but nothing has happened on our side.

Another worrying question I was asked is if I know how many people have shown interest.

Yeah, I did mention to our Village Group that they plan to bring fibre inside the village but that musn't affect whether the installation will commence hence there is no HOA or BC and the houses should be treated like a residential house in a suburb?

I hope they treat it as a residential area and not a complex/estate.

You have pm.

So....saturday morning sitting in the living and vodacom fibre reps are in the complex.

I go outside as the lady keeps banging on the front gate. Reckons me where she is from and they have a promotion on fibre.

I tell there is NO fibre in the complex and she whips out the phone and shows me with her current location that there is fibre.

I look at her and tell her I will give her all my money in my bank account is she can find fibre in this complex and that I will also take the most expensive fibre package also.

After much confusion and a call she realises there is no fibre. Then she wants to sell me LTE for 150+150gb at R1100. What a joke.

Told her I feel sorry for her walking in the blazing sun and trying to sell me a 20/2 line at R850 p/m with no infrastructure in the complex as to where I can get a 20/20 at R790.

Someone f@@ked them over....

Well...they have officially started trenching in our complex.

Big shoutout to @pinball wizard for all the PM's and listening to all my whining.

I can't wait for the complex to go live...
just having a hard time choosing a 20mb line as to from who and should it be 20/2 or 20/20?

Seeing Level7 is looking not so bad in that department.

Depends...if you live alone, and you don't have a lot of devices connected simultaneously, the 20/2 will suffice. But for more "leg room" I'll rather go for a 20/20 line. That extra upload speed will just give you peace of mind, especially if you're sharing with someone else who stream/game/download a lot.

Can one benefit on downloads/streaming with 20/20 as to 20/2? I was under the impression the download speed was only for download and upload speed only for uploads.

Or am I missing something?

Well, there is some data that gets uploaded even when you're downloading, but it won't make use of your full upload speed. I suppose 20/2 will work fine, start with it. You can always upgrade to 20/20 when or if you feel like you need it.
