HI

Bescides turning the graphics to a lower setting, is there any other ways of improving your gaming pergformance (getting more fps)?

I have an nvidia GT 525M 1GB DDR3 Graphics card on my laptop and it struggles to play DX11 games.

Do you have the latest drivers? There were new ones released a few days ago, apparently they increase Skyrim performance by a large amount.

overclock the gfx, install msi afterburner, should allow to overclock your nvidia card on the laptop, does allow mine in my laptop :P

Kill the process of each app that you or your laptop is not using when playing games.

Next time get a laptop with a better gfx card or get a separate gaming pc :P

This with the latest drivers is probably your best bet.

It's really not recommended to overclock your notebook gpu. Heat in the notebook is your worst enemy. I've read numerous threads where they do it and most of the time with dire consequences. IF you are going to, it's recommended that you use super-duper-awesome-thermal paste...otherwise, the wear and tear on the component is just not worth it -apparently.

1. Download the latest drivers for your graphics card.

Product Type: GeForce
Product Series: GeForce 500M Series (Notebook)
Product: GeForce GT 525M
Operating System: Select your Operating system, if you are unsure what bit you are using of Windows 7 you can look in Control Panel > System - System Type

2. Download and run CCleaner and Defraggler.

Remember to untick unnecessary installation options.

3. Go to the "Tools" section of CCleaner and then "Startup" then disable unnecessary start up programs.

You may also use the built in msconfig program via the Run command.

4. Download and use Game Booster.

5. Turn off or lower Anti-Aliasing, Anisotropic Filtering and disable Virtual Sync to help improve FPS in games.

Lowering Resolution also contributes greatly to improve FPS in games.

wait a second supports nvidia optimus so you can do this.

making your own external gpu, but with nvidia optimus you can use the gpu that you made externally, on your laptop lcd , where you normally had to use external screen.

can have Internal LCD-only setup: NVIDIA Optimus or "]Ultramon/Chung-Gun method.

Its not easy but it does work :P

pic of a guy playing on hes internal lcd.

In windows also set it up for best performance which turns off all the fancy desktop graphics stuff like aero etc.

I saw the picture, it looks like an External graphics card.

Which port does it use? I have a Dell XPS L502X laptop and I has an eSATA port on it.

I will turn off the fancy windows aero thing.

Don't bother trying any of this stuff you'll spend hours and end up either a) overheating your fragile notebook or b) gaining maximum 1-2fps which isn't playable. 525m is what it is, notebooks are kind of stuck with the hardware they have. Just turn down the settings and be satisfied.

expresscard, mPCIe slot, or Thunderbolt port.

you would us express slot if you have one , its like slot for old 3g cards, if dont have it, sort of out of luck.

I do not have that slot on my notebook :(

Only have 2 USB 3.0 Slots on my laptop, as well as an eSATA slot, an HDMI port.

Guess I will be stuck with this ****ty graphics card.
