Anyone else get this problem

Hi,

Not sure if this has been spoken about yet. I recently got back from holiday and attempted to download files via my 4MB line. Normally I connect using my OpenWeb Uncapped Express 512K account. All downloads would not go above 55KB/s.The problem is that before I had left, I recall my downloads fluctuating between 200-400KB/s (through a download manager of course).

Thinking that this might have something to do with IS's threshold policy, I connected using my WebAfrica Unshaped 4GB connection (which is SAIX based). I am still getting the same speeds no matter what I download. Whether its local or international.

Of course I do all my downloads through a download manage to reach high speeds, but doing this has not allowed the speeds to go above 60KB/s.

I called Telkom and they assure me that I'm still on their 4MB subscription plan.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Has there been some sort of change on Telkom's side, IS's side, or SAIX's side during my time away ?

What speed is your router syncing with the exchange at?

Call Telkom again and ask them to reset your port

Well it is a 512k account so presumably IS are now limiting it to 512k.
