Anyone else having issues with TelkomSA ADSL?

I've had a few clients phone in this morning complaining about lousy download speeds and time-outs when accessing their mail.

Their hosting accounts are on different servers and the only common denominator is that they have ADSL accounts with TelkomSA. Sadly, none so far have any alternative means of connecting, so I haven't been able to get more info. :mad:

Mine been unusable since Saturday.
 
Telkom seems to have gone down again for me. Switched to my afrihost account, and all good.

Hi Rickster,


In this case I was referring to several clients who are using TelkomSA ADSL accounts.

It's weird: they can browse without any issues and can get to their mail via our online portal, but not using their e-mail clients... their mail downloads at a crawl and / or just times out.


None of our other clients have this issue. I've tested mail myself using a Cybersmart ADSL account and it comes through quickly.
 
There's definitely been something odd happening with TI since the 1st in the southern region but it's not impacting all clients. I suspect they might be trying to sort out the problems the gamers on TI were experiencing last month.

Packet loss I was experiencing at several sites has been resolved but Ookla speedtests to Cape Town are lousy (falsely) because PE has been mysteriously re-located north of Maputo for test purposes - seems DNS related.

I cant even stream a 360px video... Buffers every time.
 
Are you people referring to the lines with Telkom, or TelkomInternet ADSL accounts? "TelkomSA" seems a bit ambiguous in this context
 
my internet was down the whole day yesterday and still down, staying in the fourways area.
 
Yeah I have no idea what's wrong, sucks when can't even stream or download at a good speed.
