Anyone ever successfully replace a broken TV screen?

If its the physical screen, not worth it. If its PSU or TCRON, depending on the TV worth the efffort as there is nothing wrong with the panel.

I used to work in the lcd tv and screen industry and unfortunately the screen as a spare part cost much more that a new tv. Even the industrial monitor’s are the same. Just and example the one screen we had about 5 years ago 90 inch price R500,000.00the screen spare part for that unit was R700,000.00 including shipping from the factory overseas, as the glass is a very delicate part and out side of the monitor is very difficult to ship.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

I think I will just get another TV.

Yes, I've done it, I've also replaced probably hundreds of LCD panels over the decades.

Wouldn't bother in SA, panel costs are prohibitive.

Even if I was in China still, I probably wouldn't bother - the cost of an LCD driver and a Chassis isn't that much compared to the time to take it apart, check what panel was used, order the panel, then replace 2-3 days later when it arrives.

Hisense is actually a higher end brand.

Aim is a local OEM put together locally. Cheapest parts win.

For a budget TV wouldn't worry at all though, much of a muchness, unless they're using really shitty panels.

Hisense is local OEM Chinese parts too. I wouldn't be surprised if AIM comes from the same factory.

Nah, AIM OEM is CZ Electronics. Assembly in SA (Boksburg)

Hisense actually do design and make their own components - at least in Asia.
Hisense's Factory is in Western Cape - Atlantis; probably doing much the same thing here as CZ i.e. also assembly, although unlike AIM, they'll use Hisense designed driver boards vs off the shelf ones like CZ.

Panels will of course be whatever the current cheapest factory is pumping out that meet the spec.

Indoor cricket is probably the biggest cause of broken TV screens.

My neighbours son broke their glass door and TV on seperate occasions playing cricket inside
