Hey every1

Since Monday 03-04-06, I would connect, load a web page, kill about a minute reading the contents then I will call up some more content and the browser (IE and Firefox) would eventually time out. My blue 3G LED will still be shining like the morning star, VMC dashboard ( old and v6 )and biometrics dialer will indicate a healthy connection. What fixes it immediatley is to disconnect the dashboard and then reconnect. What the hell is going on? Disconnecting and reconnecting evertime you want to click on a link is not what I call exhilirating. Has the phasing-in of HSPDA on our tower got anything to do with this?

mmmm i seem to be having the same problem..... except im using GPRS........... what is going on????????? its dam irritating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you picked this up with 155? They'll know if there are any problems in your area?

Where are you based?

what do the lights mean on the new card? How do I "read" them?

Let me get the full version, but the way I understand them red is GPRS/EDGE and blue is 3G/HSDPA.

The speed of the flash shows the actual bearer, two blinks means 3G, if blue, and 4 flashes HSDPA.

Guess what? At this point in time 14:30 05-04-06, everthing is working ok again without any changes on my behalf...

Where are you based?

There was a problem that affected areas in Gauteng, this cleared around 2:30.

General feedback?

Hi

We have had this problem since Friday last week with 2 different cards on 2 notebooks. 3G doesnt stay up for more than a few minutes - GPRS lasts longer but is sooooo sloooow its unusable.

We have the problem on the Natal South Coast, Southern Suburbs Cape Town and in Langebaan - all places that worked fine for us before last Friday.

Have reported it but up to today was told we are the only people with a problem.

I've had the exact same problem and have only had my 3g card for 3 weeks. I've seriously regretted getting myself into a 24 month contract and have resorted to using my dial-up when it really gets impossible. BTW, I'm in the Brackenhurst Alberton area (Gauteng)

Also having these problems ... Bryanston area. Has been particularly bad since Friday. BUT has been going on for a few weeks on and off. Definately network related and NOT CARD, SOFTWARE, FIRMWARE issues.

I have been a paying guinea pig for over a year ... and had many arguments with Vodacom in that time.

There have actually been a large number of problems, I think its just teehthing problems for now with HSDPA introduction, things should become more stable soon. Thats my opinion anyways.

I reported the problems to Vodacom last Friday and phoned everyday since without getting a single call back! However today takes the cake they finally phoned me back to say that the guy handling it is on leave and he will call me tomorrow - now thats service!!!

I am sooo sorry I signed a 24 month contract!

You are lucky they even called you back, for the last year I am the one who has to HOUND them because they hardly ever return calls. I have to send a series of emails between Vodacom and I for a few weeks before I get any action out of them .. very time consuming and frustrating.

As for this just being "TEETHING" problems with the introduction of HSDPA .... that's a joke ... Vodacom have been teething with their 3G network ever since they launched it. I know babies who have stopped teething by now.
