Anyone had brain surgery before?

is it supposed to be red? or is it actually blood?
or is it a fluid that's supposed to be clear?
the Human body sure is gross when you examine its inner workings.
It is a fluid mixed with blood. If it drips on a sheet and dries the middle of the stain will be light red with the blood staining the border brown like normal blood stains.

CSF is not mixed with blood normally.

so its not totally blood, its a bit of clear mixed with Blood,
my next question is does it leave stains? I mean blood can leave bad stains.

if this is clear, does it just dry out?

No. Plasma is yellowish/straw colored.

Normally no. In my case it was and was the same colour as in the OP's post-op pic. That's what made me think it may be CSF drainage. I am curious to know what it is exactly too.

I posted exactly what it was though.

It stains. Yes. Mine was mixed with blood and left yukky stains on my hospital pillows.

the Human body is just gross sometimes, makes me want to throw up sometimes.

I assume its super disgusting but harmless really,
it replenishes itself after a while I take it?

Yup. The only thing that doesn't replenish is the number of ****s I have to give.

Strangest thing was to get a sponge bath naked while lying in bed in ICU. Glad I shaved my junk haha

Jirr. I'm glad that didn't happen to me. My ICU nurse was super hot.

Glad you are ok. I had no drain at the time and virtually no pain.
This is 2 days after my surgery

Thank you for being so open about your symptoms and the surgery. Hopefully this brings awareness to others experiencing similar symptoms, to not ignore them and to go and get them checked out ASAP.

Wishing you all of the best with the recovery

OK, that's not something I would have expected,
why a sponge bath though? cant you/aren't you allowed to stand up? too much pain?

I mean surely you can cover up the bandages with a plastic bag and just hop in the shower.
but why do I know, I did something like that when I broke my arm.

Lol if you're in ICU you're on a lot of meds. Right after the op you're coming out of anesthesia, then you're moved onto morphine etc. Even once you're moved out of ICU to the normal hospital beds, then it'll depend on the op type whether you can stand and/or take care of yourself.

Sponge bath from strangers are weird at first, but after 2-3 days its just another thing.
