Hey Everyone.

Installed a new router today - DSL-N55U - So far so good, but I keep getting disconnects with the following error:

Jan 1 02:02:11 pppd[323]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets

Its the only error I can see in the log. There is nothing in the ADSL log except the main info as follows:

Modulation : ADSL2+
Annex Mode : Annex A/L
Line State : up
Lan Tx : 17043830
Lan Rx : 10234846
ADSL Tx : 5403
ADSL Rx : 5246
CRC Down : 0
CRC Up : 0
FEC Down : 0
FEC Up : 0
HEC Down : 0
HEC Up : 0
SNR Up : 6.1
SNR Down : 25.4
Line Attenuation Up : 4.0
Line Attenuation Down : 5.0
Data Rate Up : 1023
Data Rate Down : 10015

Not sure if I have set something in the connection up wrong.

Index
VPI -8
VCI - 35
Protocol - PPPoE
Encapsulation - LLC

Under DSL setting, its set modulation mode as Multiple mode and the Annex mode is A/L

I know what I am doing as a rule so I dont know if it is me or the line. I have a brand new POTS filter I put on as well just to be safe.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance !

Sorry, I should mention, the ADSL link is up and stable, just no actual authentication is going through. If I restart the router it connects 1st time again.

SNR Up : 6.1
SNR Down : 25.4
Line Attenuation Up : 4.0
Line Attenuation Down : 5.0

That SNR Up figure seems very low for those impressive line attenuation figures.

I don't think the line stats are a problem because I'm using the exact same router and I'm getting through just fine. Here's my stats:

Modulation : ADSL2+
Annex Mode : Annex A/L
Line State : up
Lan Tx : 47571733
Lan Rx : 30927263
ADSL Tx : 17265501
ADSL Rx : 26710751
CRC Down : 0
CRC Up : 0
FEC Down : 0
FEC Up : 0
HEC Down : 0
HEC Up : 0
SNR Up : 6.7
SNR Down : 18.0
Line Attenuation Up : 12.6
Line Attenuation Down : 24.0
Data Rate Up : 995
Data Rate Down : 10015

Maybe you entered ISP details incorrectly? Here's a screenie of my settings page:

BTW those attenuation figures are insane! :crying:

Thanks !!

Please can I ask you to confirm something for me. Under Admin and DSL settings what have you set for Modulation, Annex, Stability adjustment and SRA ?

Honestly, no. It seems to be stable now with no disconnects. Now I can also connect and disconnect in the router with no issue. Previously, when I turned the router on it would connect, but when it dropped it would never connect till the router was restarted again. So I dont know where the issue is. The only thing I changed was setting the SRA to disabled.

Gonna just keep an eye on it for a few days and see.

Thanks for the help, appreciate it !
