Anyone ordered a new line from Openserve recently ?

You are not alone, the experience has not been good so far.

There is no update. Last I heard was on Tuesday from @AfriNatic saying Openserve apparently botched something with the address process. It does not look good so far. Check out this guy below:

@chakniks you also in Klipkop side? This is an Openserve mess-up. I'm seriously hoping they can hurry up now and fix the issue. Tomorrow would be a week since my order and what's the chance they install over the weekend :cautious:

Hi,

Yeah unfortunately I don't have any feedback yet.

Klipkop/Parowvallei is a bit of a problem. The fibre addresses has not been loaded correctly and these orders are all at Openserve planning as there are no slim boxes allocated to these orders.
Yoh, how long does it take to correct a couple or maybe a substantial amount of addresses on their system  ? its putting the ISPs in a bad light imo.

Yes I am.

It is a very messed up situation. If only we had direct contact with Openserve as well, maybe we could have applied some direct pressure to resolve this. Let's hope we will not get anymore issues after this is resolved.

I agree, I was looking forward to being up and connected this week coz I mean, Openserve says we're LIVE... guess not. They usually update their maps on Fridays, so I'm thinking (and hoping) that they are getting somewhere and we will be connected Monday at the least.

Unfortunately the feedback received is not looking good for the area. There will be some delays. Klipkop and Parow Valley area.

I might be off, but I figured if I punch my address into Webafricas coverage map, I get an unusual notice :

What I understand from this is Webafrica has on their map that things aren't alright with our area/zone just yet. I've tried it with the other zones of our area and with other areas that went live the same day as us and they don't have this particular prompt. It is only our zone that gives this weird message.

I think a way for us to assess whether things are smooth and the investigation complete @chakniks, is to now and then check Webafricas map if we still get this prompt.
That's my last hope for trying to figure out this conundrum from a customer perspective. Patience is sometimes tiresome, but moreso a virtue

EDIT : I don't receive this message anymore when searching any addresses in my zone. Perhaps they are done with the investigation and orders are flowing now?
