Anyone own Masternodes?

Got my first reward this morning!!! 10 INN :)
Running it through a VPS, vultr (ref link - https://www.vultr.com/?ref=7315626). Took a lot of Ubuntu coding.. i mean I did just follow instructions but for a noob like me... i felt like Neo from the Matrix.
Very nice.
I might try vultr the next time round - Windows AWS is a little bit fiddle when it comes to IP's and multiple instances.

You going to be putting your returns into saving for another masternode or cashing out?

Vultr requires a little too much effort from me. I am going to be looking at MN's where there are VPS services I can use. As for the returns.. my plan was to takeout until i had recovered like 50% of the MN cost.. then start saving up for another MN but with prices where they are now, and all coins down, it makes more sense, IMO, to use the proceeds to buy more MN coins.

ok....very interested to start with masternodes.

any special reason why almost everyone uses a VPS?
I don't mind getting one....but have a fibre connection so can run a few vm's on my desktop.

VPS because I don't leave my computer on.
Also some masternodes require separate IP address if you're running multiple masternodes. So for each masternode I've got a seperate VPS instance each running it's own wallet & masternode.

which one do you recommend i start with?

I'm using Amazon AWS Windows right now...get free 750 hours per month so nice to play around with. However most people seem to use linux on Vultr which is probably what I'd use if I had to set up from scratch. For a single node though the free AWS account should be fine. Can always move to Vultr if you don't like it.

thanks.
what is a good master node to get started with?

Yup, also be careful to buy into the 'cheap' ones that have been 'cheap' for an overly long time. I think Arctic and Xios fall in this category for example.

so nm worth is the amount i need to have?

More or less, the statistics from masternodes.pro/online are sometimes outdated, so for Solaris you would need 1000 coins for a MN and the MN worth on those websites should reflect solaris(XLR) price multiplited by 1000 for example. Then also take into consideration daily/monthly payouts, if ROI is too soon then it tends to become inflationary over the longer term for example.

All of them are so expensive....
Or else keep an eye on the bitcointalk threads and try get something very early & cheap.
Obviously a risk because it might never go somewhere and you also sit through all the bumps in the road as it tries to take off. Once they're established the cost is very prohibitive. Even the masternodes I've got right now I would probably not have bought at their selling price, let alone what they might cost in a few months.

Currently running a tierion node and trading my way to a VIVO masternode.

so i have about $1000 in my eth wallet...how will it work?
is the money going to be held collateral while i run the node?

As @saor said, you will need a minimum of 5000TNT in a wallet address ( not an exchange address ).

In order to qualify for the rewards this wallet needs to maintain a min of 5000 tokens.

Note though, that doing it right now will be pointless as node registrations are closed and even when they do open it's only 1000 nodes at a time which goes very quick. They are still working on allowing registrations at any time.

How can I find out if they accepting new nodes? Can't really find any info about it.

Also, just triple checking the 5000 Tnt tokens are still mine to use should I choose to remove my master node...
