But is it still a situation of having to prone everywhere?
Can you run uphill to escape like before?
I got a bit tired of proning so much to avoid the zeds.
yes it has its moments but too much proning annoyed me.
Proning for kms is not fun.
Wouldn't say you needed to prone everywhere. Only time I prone is for surveillance, sniping, hiding or playing dead. I'm still more afraid/wary of other survivors than zeds. If there's one or two zeds, I wouldn't waste the time by crawling past them; a trusty fireman's axe or the lesser used chopping axe trims them down to size quickly.
AFAIK they still have that super vision and will come charging you from 800m away, but field of view and noise levels still play a factor. Due to their increased speed, escaping might take a bit more effort now, but yes, you can still do the uphill run (provided that you run at a proper angle).
They are "imbalanced" at this stage, the devs have openly admitted that, as a result of a combination of bugs and/or functionality that doesn't exist yet. Fun times playing an Alpha.
On a side note; due to the recent updates enabling zed spawning, one of the new tactics employed is to herd a bunch of zeds to a critical point in a town (building, water well) or to the entrance of a town, which will supposedly scare other players away or act as a defense for snipers positioned on top of apartment buildings. Haven't tried it myself, but seems rather clever.
