Anyone playing EVE Online?

Wolfling it should be quite fast. If you didn't recieve it in 3 hours i would mail the support team and ask if there is a problem.

[email protected]

Btw first stop for any new players.

On the left you have ure neocom....fancy name for your toolbar on the left.
Near the bottom there is a channel button.
join channel: ze chat.

a lot of south africans play there and if you need help, advice and sometimes a bit of isk go there and well see if we can help.

I got the email, after about 4 hours waiting, then I installed and logged in and... the server is down. This was round 1am so I went to bed.

.......the servers go down everyday for 1 hour at bout 1pm.....quite weird that you had the prob at 1am though.

They are also bringing out today the new expansion to the game Red Moon Rising.

Retail Version

Hi all. Just to clear something up - the retail version does get you a 30 day trial but the CD itself is pretty useless since it needs to be patched comprehensively (retail was released in 2003 and no longer supported by CCP).

Best option is to wait for Friday when the new expansion is ready (Red Moon Rising) and then download the client.

Looks forward to seeing you all in EvE.

Is there any way of getting like a 10 day free trial or equivalent without buying it in the shops? I'd love to try it out..

Well will be getting my line soon... or so they say...

Does it matter much if I go with an IS or SAIX based isp for EvE?

Another question..

I use Teamspeak alot while playing does it still work well with either of the two types?

An IS based isp will give u roundbouts 600ms pings. This is not a problem in eve considering it's not a click death game. So you should be fine.
The best pings I ever got was with Wireless online....260ms bouts.

Currently playing on SAOL's 10gb package and getting bout 450ms stable pings.
The greatest irritant to eve is packet loss.
Kinda sux when u wanna warp or you lose your ship cause ure connection had a hiccup. Eve is very unforgiving when it comes to losses with one of the most harshest death penalties in mmorpg's. This is not a game for little girls.....well mebe....but only if their like ......go yarr an stuff. :)

I constintly use TS for our corp ops and there is no prob running the two together. Hell a lot of corps insist that you at least maintain a listen presence on their ts server.

Thanks

I know all to well the penalties you face in eve, many a clone cost has come in learning that harsh lesson.

The same goes for my corp reguarding the use of TS so had to make sure everything would still work perfactly.

Hi All - I have not been on myadsl in ages. Been playing Eve for 3 years now since Beta.

I am on a 1024 4GB ADSL and on a good day get about 350ms ping time to the Eve cluster.

The current game client is 3796 and is available from http://www.eve-online.com/download/ and is 513.7MB

The game caches ingame items like character pictures, chatlogs, screenshots and your installation directory does grow with time.

Look my up ingame as Latta (I also hang in the ingame channel ZE CHAT with unit01 when I am on)

If you want a buddy pass just pm me your email address here and I will send one to you!

Also - check out our new site we launched on 01/12/2005 - www.evenews.com.

Those of you playing a while would recall www.eve-i.com, I was involved there but it has now gone done.

See you ingame soon!

DH
