Anyone used apple's OS on their pc

So i am busy downloading this hackintosh thing to see why people love mac so much, i do alot of artwork creation and what not so i want to see if maybe buying a mac for the OS would be worth it.

Has anyone got the software to run on their intel pc

Please note this is purely for educational purposes and may lead to the sale of an apple

I can't get hold of the Hackintosh software - would love to give it a try, but somehow I think my hardware would be a stumbling block.

OS X is just a really nice looking version of Linux ! There is a patch out to run it on amd machines also but I just found it too time consuming to set up

The only thing that attracts me to OSX is the look of the operating system and nothing else.

thats why i copied the look on windows (in a way)

I did the same on Ubuntu, to my MacBook-toting brother's absolute astonishment! Tok me about 30 minutes.

Still, it's not MacOS.

It's not. It's a Darwin kernel. The OS is similar to BSD, although I wouldn't even go as to say it's based on any of the popular BSD flavours. The desktop is apple's own which started out as NeXT (from the company Steve Jobs was at before he came back to Apple).
