Hi guys,

I have a friend of mine who wants to buy a gaming laptop for under R10 000. I ran into www.evetech.co.za , an online store. It looked legit, I checked on HelloPeter and it also was looking pretty that side. Has anyone used www.evetech.co.za and how was their overall service?

Thanks

I haven't bought from them, but they're legit and you won't have issues in buying from them.

They put together some of the best pre-built gaming PC's in SA!

I've been to their HQ. Pretty sweet setup and awesome service overall.

Bought a netbook from them about a month ago. Arrived earlier than I thought, great service!

Also, I could not find a better price on that netbook anywhere else.

You can't go wrong with them.

I've purchased from them a few times. Probably bout 15k worth of things.
Last I got a msi7950 twin frozr iii edition. It started giving me artifacts in game. Also In the browser it wasn't happening all the time but it was happening and still happens. I took photos with proof of my name on the pc and dates and everything. I showed it to them. They ran a few tests and weren't interested in sending my card in. The card still does this today. When they ran the tests it never came up. Like I said it happens a lot but not like constantly. Anyways I will never use them again. After spending bout 15k they could have treated me a but better.

Anyways, I personally wouldn't use them from my bad experience...

On this issue of artifacts in the browser, are you using firefox? Seems to be a common issue.

As the old hardware writer for PCFormat I dealt with the owners on a regular basis and bought gear from them myself. Never had any issues and I have recommended them to friends and family for the last few years.

Hugo you can contact Corex and discuss it with them.

Bought a R18k pc from them about 6 months ago. Service was good, build was good. Would buy from them again...

Have dealt with them extensively in the past, they were always professional. Great service, would deal with them again.

I never had a problem with them before. I would swear by them and always recommend them. I fought with them over the warranty of the card but I have a feeling it was this one guy who just wouldn't budge. The card was a month old and he was telling me I just wanted to extend my warranty. Lol. So I had 11 months left but I just wanted to extend my warranty to 12 months?
I tried to get my card fixed or replaced but that oak was a sour price which just made me give up and never ever buy anything from them again. I mean 2 weeks before that I got me the Asus sabretooth 990fx r2. I'm still using it and I'm happy with it. My warranty is about to expire as I got this last year end of December so I'm not even sure if I wanna even bother fighting with them again.
I use chrome but I've seen it happening on ie as well. All games get it but I've just learned to deal with it by minimising the game. That usually helps.

What is Corex?

I bought my graphics card from them and the service was great.

Not used them myself, but I trust them, as friends have used them before. They tend to be a bit more pricey than normal wholesalers but their specials are good.
