Anyone using Vox Telecoms & Metrofibre Networx?

We’re looking for options re internet connectivity and VoIP provider for our small office (10 people) in Fourways. One option is a 5 Mbps broadband connection from Vox Telecoms over Metrofibre Networx fibre infrastructure.

Has anyone here used Vox and/or Metrofibre Networx? Is their internet connectivity and VoIP descent, or are there better alternatives that we should be considering? Thanks.

If i were you: get a 5mbps FIBRE from Neotel. Contact switch telecom or connection telecom to supply you with voip. Both can give you local numbers.
(Vox gets their voip services with connection telecom).

You can easily run all your voice traffic with a fibre connection as switch and connection telecom can use ViBE for low bandwith voip services. And if you dont want to sacrifice your data connection for voip, you can always get a basic diginet for voip traffic only. The supplier that you choose can easily put all the paperwork and manage a diginet for you -so you dont have to deal with Hellkom-.
A diginet for voip traffic is going for around R1000 per month(syncronous speeds, point to point traffic only).

Thanks for the info, have requested a feasibility study from Neotel.
Any specific reason for not recommending the Neotel provided VoIP functionality?

why not neotel for voip?

simple: they don't supply equipment, only the Lines. You have to go and get your own (they can assist you and put you in contact with suppliers).

When I did my move from old POTS to VOIP, I contacted neotel as I was a neotel client for data, but at the end I got a supplier that gave me the complete solution, that included lines, equipment, installation and all that. Also I had the advantage of getting a true Voip Solution that can run through any Internet/data connection.

Neotel lines can run on their network, but not sure if it can run through another network. My existing Voip supplier can run as long I have an Internet connection and I also have a sip client on my smartphone which I can use in any place, even with 3G.
