Hey guys. If any of you read the Dev section in the forum you will know that I am now unemployed and will be doing WP7 dev fulltime.
So...if you have any bright idea's for apps that could do well, please let me know!
(And yes, this does mean that the MyBB app will be ready sooner rather than later :P)

Also posted the same thread but got no real response:

Elimentals had a cool idea but it is not possible to do it in WP7 yet. I'm working on a great app. I just need to get all the paperwork done and access to their systems then I can properly test and publish. I don't know how long this will take though. Can't really give more info at this stage. But I am also trying to think of proper apps to get out and maybe go fulltime with my business on this.

Good luck roguemat. I hope things go well. I've also been trying to think of something that will make for a great app but eh, nothing so far.

Something I've been looking for recently..
An alarm clock that tells you the weather and appointments for the day once you dismiss it.
So it'll go, "Goodmorning sir. It's Friday the 5th of October. Weather forecast for the day is clear at 15 degrees centigrade. You have 3 appointments today, the earliest starting at 9am."

It'll be cool if it's in the voice of Jarvis from Ironman, but the WP7 lady's voice is also pretty cool..
There are similar apps for Android, but that text to speech sounded crappy...

Not sure if it's what you already mean by the mybb app but tapatalk has an api you can use and they don't have a win7 version of their own app.

Since you have a lot of time on your hands, you can help me extract all the data that is housed in a sim card. Not talking about phone numbers but the serial number and whatever can be found in the chip itself.

Anyway, an video player app that can play as many formats as possible would be great, something like core codec for the nokia devices. Another great one would be...ftp from phone to pc. A file explorer, so in essence, i want to see everything i have in my d: on the pc, on my phone through a wifi connection, then maybe i can stream it or copy/paste the files to and from the from. Basically, a normal lan connection between 2 computers.

One doesn't necessarily need a new app idea to make money. Making a better app than the rest also works. Make a better personal info encryption vault app than what is already available, for example. Better design. Easier to use. Etc.

A 3G data used/available widget that actually works well with VC/MTN servers (NB! accurate/reliable) will be great on all the OS's.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately every idea so far requires more access than the API's allow us - except the alarm on which will be possible in Mango :)

An app to keep track of mileage logs for SARS will be awesome. All OS's. Please! :-)

I want to purchase a Denon hi-fi but the remote app is IOS only. A WP7 app would be great :p

I haven't looked to see if this exists, but an app to keep track of your mileage for SARS would be handy. It cuold even use GPS, I guess...

I have an app idea. Whats the best way to go about getting a patent going on this?

Email it to me, and wait to see it in the WP7 marketplace soon :P

Kidding. I dont know actually. But patents are such fickle things. Unless is is an EXTREMELY specific idea, and one that you are willing to wait a year to get the patent for, then I would suggest that you just actually make the app(or hire someone) and make some money off it before someone else thinks of it...
