Had to change mine too, just picked a hotel.

I am having the same issue. I set up my account over 2yrs ago when I was living in America, I used my home address at that time and my account is linked to
my american credit card.

If I try and change my address to anything else, I get a conflict with my credit card details and it wont let me change it.
I have also tried the St. fix, but that wont work either.

Apple has Incorporated Address Verification into iTunes,if your address is a fake it will kick it out.
I changed my address to a Holiday Inn in NY and it works perfect now...

I had the same issue. I was using a Santa monica jail as my address. Had to play around with it fir a bit but eventually came right. Also had the whole tax issue. Like the idea of Vegas and the homeless shelter....

The company I work for has an office in the States, so I have just used that one and its working fine...
